  Mr. Ronnie Hilliard

About World Geography
This is a Freshman level course examining the inter-relationship between humans and the environment in the contemporary world from cultural, historical, and regional perspectives. Physical, human, demographic, and natural resource issues will be studied and a brief overview of the political, cultural, and historical landscapes of the world’s nations will be presented.
About U.S. History
This is a Junior level course focusing on political, social, economic, and cultural developments beginning with the Civil War, Reconstruction and the late 19th century Gilded Age, moving to 20th century domestic developments and overseas expansion, and ending with present era concerns such as globalization and the reemergence of local culture as a powerful force. Within each unit several factors are considered: geographic, political, economic, social, and international events. Emphasis is placed on relating the effects of past events to the present. The course is enriched with various activities which help students learn social studies skills as well as historical content.
