I graduated from Texas Tech University in 1969. I have had numerous teaching assignments since then. I taught kindergarten for two years at Frenship ISD which is just west of Lubbock. I then moved to Waco where I taught 8th grade Earth/Life Science. My next teaching assignment was at Lake Travis Elementary where I taught 6th grade. This is a district just outside of Austin. From there, I moved to Comanche where I was assigned to teach 5th grade. From 1987 to 2005 I was principal at Comanche Intermediate which later became Comanche Elementary. I retired in June, 2005. That lasted one month. I then became assistant principal back at Comanche Elementary working on a half-time basis. Then in Fall 2008 I "unretired" and began working full-time again as principal at the new Comanche Middle School.I also taught for two summers as an English instructor for Ranger Junior College. I spend my spare time reading, gardening, and attending plays. My passion is traveling--I love to visit new and different places. Comanche ISD is near and dear to my heart. I have had such a long career here and have seen so many positive changes over the years that I feel passionate about its continued improvement. I love working with the children and staff here in Comanche--the people here are so supportive and want the best for their children. When everyone works together, learning becomes much easier, and the children achieve more. |
